Meet
your tutor:
Peter Csizmadia-Honigh

Peter is a
Hungarian-British wine writer, educator and competition judge, who lives in the
UK. A regular visitor to India as well as other wine countries across the
globe, he is the author of The Wines of India, a Concise Guide, an OIV
Award-winning title of The Press Publishing, for which he has been featured on BBC
World News and in The Hindustan Times.
As a
competition judge, he works with Decanter World Wine Awards, where he is a
senior member of the Asia panel with particular expertise in Indian wines as
well as extensive experience in Japanese and Chinese wines. Earlier, Peter was
a judge for the International Wine & Spirit Competition in the UK and South
Africa.
With a
diploma from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, Peter is a WSET-approved
educator and teaches his own wine classes. He has been a certified sherry
educator in Jerez, Spain (2011), and has collaborated with the International
Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) in India to share his knowledge with
students. Whilst he is the world’s leading authority on Indian wines, Peter has
an approachable style and a great passion to communicate about wine, writing
regular reviews on the wines of Bordeaux, Chianti and Germany as well.
A graduate
from the University of Budapest in English literature, economics and pedagogy,
Peter joined the UK wine trade in 2005 and worked as the education manager of
the Institute of Masters of Wine until 2014. From 2007 to 2022, he ran Royal
Somló Vineyards in Hungary. Now, having completed an LLM with distinction in
labour law and corporate governance from the University of Bristol, he has
moved to corporate life, and is currently head of human resources for Tetra Pak
in the UK, Ireland and Benelux. He spends most of his free time writing a
